A gentle reminder regarding the May 12th Museum of Fine Arts Day visit...


Just in case you did not receive the announcement regarding our Museum of Fine Arts Summer Reading visit invitation--here's the April 25th mass email from Kenneth Peterson of Boston Region. Check if there is any availability or cancellation if you are still interested in attending:

Dear Region Members,

The Museum of Fine Arts and Boston Regional Library System invites you to Massachusetts Statewide Summer Reading Program 2006: WHAT'S BUZZIN

The annual day-long workshop combines this year's theme, "What's Buzzin", with the exploration of Boston's sights and offerings will take place on May 12, 2006.

Specially designed to infuse librarians and teachers with ideas for reading programs and learn how to share the MFA's resources with families. Please join us for this very special event. Below you will find the proposed agenda for the day.

10:00 - 10:15 Arrival/Check-in

10:15 - 10:30 Welcoming Remarks

10:30 - 11:30 Sara Salerno Thomas from Imagine that Productions will do an interactive performance giving ideas to the librarians.

11:30 - 12:00 Food and Art


12:00 - 1:00 Lunch (on your own)

1:00 - 4:00 Breakout Groups (35 min per session, 10 min to rotate)
Group #1 Food and Art
Group #2 Dialoguing ideas with kids
Group #3 Art making: How to make a quick lesson plan &
simple fun activities
Group #4 Visiting the MFA galleries with family activities.

4:00 - 4:30 Refreshments

4:30 - Optional visit to David Hockney Portraits at a discounted rate

This event will be first come, first serve with a maximum of 60 people. Priority will be given to BRLS members.
